Shoomb

Firas Al Raisi - Shoomb - is an electronic music producer based in Muscat, Oman creating experimental brain music ranging from downtempo IDM, to more uptempo techno and darkpsy. 

Originally a drummer, percussionist, rhythm based artist. Playing music with various bands playing Rock and Indie Music. Shoomb alternatively got into DJ-ing and mixing music for smaller events, but the need to create originals was still prominent. 

Influenced by the sound design of psychedelic progressive rock, and the enjoyment of deep house and psytrance, and a friend suggesting an Arturia Microfreak, this opened the possibiltiies towards exploring sound synthesis and understanding gnarly waveforms. 

Shoomb now performs Live shows with modular synthesizers and his DAW. Locally, in curated art events, commercial shows, as well as festivals internationally such as Goa's HillTop Festival. 

He is part of a larger group of local artists who indulge in sound experimentation as well. After 12 Collective.
